How to write a book – 10 Steps:

Are you interested or planning to write a book by yourself? You may have all resources like pen, laptop, internet facilities and confidence to write a book and all, but the one question will be appearing in mind is where to start and how to start? Don’t worry, do create one plan with the proper schedule and make it follow according to the plan. Finally that will take you write from one blank pages to thousands of pages in the future. Everything will happen that based on your determination and grit.

1. Select your topic:

You may have lots of interest and knowledge in a specific topic. Think to yourself and find your area of interest.  It should be the topic that you are going to write. It may take several days, weeks, months, maybe even years. Take your own time. But don’t choose the topic that makes you boring in a few weeks.

2. Plan your schedule:

The planning stage is very important of in the way of success. Actually planning is like a map that guide and show the way of destination. So once choosing the topic that you are going to write, then prepare the plan or schedule that will clearly mention how to start. That solid plan should be covered,

• Target Market

• The reason why you are going to write 

• Subject of book that you cover through the book

3. Prepare the outline of topic:

When you are going to write a book, prepare the outline on topic is play a vital role. It will reduce your time ten- fold.   Discuss each chapter with your friends or colleague. Note down, what are the points are very important that you want to highlight in each chapter. How will you satisfy emotional needs of your target audience and address all those in each chapter. Keep notes as you go through the each topics otherwise it will be very difficult to recall all crucial notes. You can record your conversations for future purpose. Next step is transcribe your conversation and prepared a precise outline of topic from that conversion.

4. Set a goal:

Set goals to yourself that to complete particular amount of content within particular amount of time. Set out timing for each day and stick it to follow them. That may be two hours on all days except Sunday, Saturday and holidays. For holidays set 3 to 4 hours. Set target for period of writing and try to achieve them. If you set goals in terms of Word Count, it will be very difficult to accomplish. That time don’t discourage yourself.   Keep an attitude of celebrate small achievement and do reward yourself. 

5. Start Information Research

When you follow the list of actions that you prepared before, you can find out that what are the additional information are required in particular area. You need to do research on the topic clearly and note down important points. It will make your writing is accurate and easy way to insert the information in appropriate area as per outline of subject.

6. Write your first draft:

Once you have prepared the detailed information on topic wise, you can work through every item that you listed in the outline. Just loudly talk out in any recording device, and then listen carefully in yourself. If you feel anything have to change, delete or add information, do as your aspect. Finally transcribe the recording into writing.

7. Edit your draft:

Now you have finished the first draft of your whole book, start reading your book from start to end. You should check consistency and clarity of content flow. Check whether the content is interesting to read or not?  You can edit further if it is required. 

8. Send to editor:

You can send you draft of your book for final review and check up to editor. The job of editors is also same as you did before that check out consistency and flow of content. They can find out error or omissions in very effectively.  You have to hire an editor at your affordable cost for doing this, otherwise if you have any friend as editor get a help to him.

9. Review once finally:

After editing the draft, you have to read again the book fully. It should be more painful to you read again and again but it is final stage to check your material. This is time to make any necessary changes. The final review and editing stage is much important when you write a book.

10. Publish:

In recent days, so many platforms are there to publish the book. So it is very easy to publish your book.  Find out any good platform to self-publish your book without too much expense. When you publish the book through the commercial route, you can face numerous barriers to publish. Don’t be discouraged. Well prepared on this.
